PMMI Announces New CEO and Senior Vice President

PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, has announced major changes to its board of directors.

Jim Pittas assumes the role of president and CEO of PMMI effective February, 1. Pittas succeeds Chuck Yuska, who is retiring after 27 years at the helm.

“I can’t say enough about the leadership blueprint working alongside Chuck provided me over the past 18 years,” Pittas says. “It is impossible to measure what he has meant to PMMI, but I strive to build upon that legacy.”

Yuska will remain at PMMI in an advisory role through his official retirement in May.

Pittas became Chief Operating Officer in April 2017 after 17 years successfully managing PMMI’s number one member service, PACK EXPO trade shows. He will remain in PMMI’s Reston, Virginia headquarters.

On the other hand, PMMI promoted Dave Newcorn to Senior Vice President, Digital & Data.

The newly created position allows PMMI to centralize its digital and audience resources under Newcorn with data, new product and website development, as well as information technology all now falling under his purview.

The promotion continues the integration of PMMI’s headquarters in Reston, Virginia and PMMI Media Group’s Chicago office.

“Dave has played a vital role in PMMI’s evolution in the digital arena,” says Pittas. “By consolidating all of our digital and technology efforts under one person, I believe that PMMI Media Group, PMMI Business Drivers and PACK EXPO Portfolio of Trade Shows will be better, more efficient and provide even more innovative products and services […].”

Newcorn says: “We’ll be taking a data-centric approach to integrating audience development with new product development. […] I’m looking forward to working with my Chicago and Reston colleagues to leverage data and technology for everyone’s benefit.”
