Herbert Previews Its Equipment Line-Up for Potato Europe

The Herbert Oculus next generation optical sorter for washed potatoes and Herbert GF2 box filler will be centre stage on Herbert Engineering’s stand at this year’s Potato Europe in Hanover from September, 3-4.
Both machines are top sellers throughout Europe.
The gentle, soft filling GF2 box filler features a number of product improvements. It is strong, has a cleaner look to it, and has far fewer parts, which means less maintenance. The unique cantilever sensing system gives smooth filling while the GF2 box filler delivers fast and efficient box filling for grading lines and self unloading vehicles and the redesigned monocoque chassis acts as the guard and supporting structure.
The Oculus optical sorter delivers more efficient and more accurate sorting, better detection of greens through the use of infrared cameras, easier maintenance and more efficient hygiene control.
It features 360º rotation for all-round, improved vision and infrared as standard for superior performance in identifying and removing reject produce. Its new technology enables growers and processors to have the flexibility to achieve a better and more consistent quality of product, identify rejects more effectively and minimise production downtime, particularly important with challenging lifting conditions and a variable crop.
A number of new features have just introduced on the Oculus, which enable users to identify three additional common problems that can lead to individual or batch rejects, namely clay cap, wireworm and jelly end rot (solanum tuberosum).
