The Export Potato Prices are Increasing Gradually Across Europe

The export potato prices are steadily rising throughout Europe, and this week the markets in Spain and Portugal are reportedly better. Prices in the raw potato markets are stable, but demand is unchanged.

The spud demand from Eastern Europe is still present in the UK, but British producers are now asking for higher rates. This week, queries have also come in from potential buyers for continental Spain.

This week's cooler weather in Ireland should increase domestic usage of potatoes.

“Demand for peeling material has picked up again this week with strong prices reported. Current weather conditions have put a halt to any field work taking place. Shipments of potatoes continue to be exported to Portugal and Holland from Ireland, with a good appetite for more Irish stock,” the latest IFA weekly report reveals.
