1.7m Tons of Potatoes Produced in Uzbekistan in the First Half of 2023

All types of farms together produced nearly 1.7m tons of potatoes in the first half of 2023, according to statistics from the Agency on Statistics of the Republic of Uzbekistan. This number grew by 3.3% as compared to the same time previous year.

According to UPL 24, the Samarkand region led all other regions in the production of potatoes. 18.5% of the entire crop is raised there.

Additionally, Surkhandarya (13.5%), Fergana (12.0%), Andijan (11.2%), and Bukhara (10.2%) had high potato cultivation volumes. The Jizzakh region and the Republic of Karakalpakstan have the lowest indications of the proportion of potato cultivation in the overall volume at 0.7% and 1.7%, respectively.
