Tyrrells plans expansion in India

The UK-based Tyrrells Potato Crisps is embarking on an expansion drive in India with plans to partner with hotel chains and increase its presence in modern retail trade outlets.

The firm that has been present in India for the last three years is aiming to double its revenues to one million pounds in the country by next year, reported The Hindu Business Times.

"Our current revenues in India is about half a million pounds and next year we want to double it," Tyrrells Potato Crisps CEO, Mr David Milner, told PTI.

The company, which makes hand-made crisps at its farm in Herefordshire, currently sells its products in India by importing from the UK. The Johar Group is its Indian importer and distributor.

"In the modern retail trade, we are already available at Nature's Basket, Hypercity, Le Marche and Modern Bazaar. The idea is to expand further in India," Mr Milner added.
