Sormac Opens Branch in the US

To further improve and optimize its services in the U.S. market, Sormac has opened a branch in the country.

Sormac has been active in the U.S. since the 1980s, first by offering graders for pickles. Over the years, the delivery program was expanded with the addition of machines and processing lines for other vegetables such as potatoes, carrots, onions, and other leafy vegetables.

The American branch of Sormac is located in Toledo, Ohio and is led by manager John Clement. Together with the current Sormac representatives, Golden State Food Machinery – for California, Arizona and Nevada – and Billy Mims Repair Service – for the pickle industry – Clement will be in charge of serving the American market.

The branch’s activities will be expanded with support from the headquarters in the Netherlands. The team in Toledo will also provide service and technical support on-site and supply spare parts to serve Sormac’s American customers optimally. In addition, the Toledo branch has a dedicated test facility where customers can test Sormac machines.

At the same time, Sormac announced that the cooperation it has with Foodcons has resulted in the former adding the slice and wedge cutter from Foodcons to its VeggieLine. This cuts various types of fruit and vegetables into slices, wedges, and sticks.

The slice and wedge cutter FS-3600/Multicut, for example, was well-received on the market. It boasts a capacity of 3,600 pieces per hour and offers a high precision cut. The market demand has also led to the development of the semi-automatic slice and wedge cutter F-2000 which with a capacity of 1,200 pieces per hour occupies a position in the middle segment.

The latest additions to the range of slice and wedge cutters from Sormac are the manual cutters F-1000, F-1000L and the F1000XL. All models have a compact design and are aimed at smaller-scale processors. The machines are easy to use and clean and therefore very hygienic.
