Simply Roasted’s Potato Chips Waitrose and Ocado Grocery Expansion

Simply Roasted 'Better For You' potato chips continue to grow in the chips category, with the September launch of its core range into Waitrose and Ocado.

On Wednesday, September 14th, the range of on-the-go and sharing formats was launched in 230 UK Waitrose stores, followed by a listing with Ocado on September 28th.

Simply Roasted's grocery expansion allows the company to continue to lead innovation in the category, and it was created in response to rising consumer demand for healthier snacking options without sacrificing taste or flavor. Picking up steam, the brand's first nationwide listing arrives just in time for Simply Roasted's first birthday celebration.

“We’re excited to expand our distribution across Grocery with Waitrose and Ocado, with the listings giving us our first nationwide supermarket presence. To achieve this within a year of launching is incredible, and testament to the demand we’re seeing within the impulse snacking category for non-HFSS products that don’t compromise on taste,” Frances Duffy, head of sales at Simply Roasted said on the new listing, cited by F&D Technology.

Simply Roasted's collection of moreish and on-trend flavors is available at Waitrose in impulse formats of Sea Salt & Cider Vinegar, Mature Cheddar & Red Onion, and Black Truffle, and sharer formats of Sea Salt, Mature Cheddar & Red Onion, and Black Truffle. All four flavors will be available in sharer format from Ocado.

Simply Roasted is a non-HFSS crisp range developed in Norfolk over 10 years using a patented roasting process. Simply Roasted chips are always roasted and never fried, making them the only roasted potato chip on the market. They are made by triple cooking a whole slice of potato, offering all the flavor and crunch of a traditional fried chip but with 50% less fat, 25% less salt, and under 99 calories (per serving).

Simply Roasted was introduced in Waitrose stores across the country on September 14th, and in Ocado on September 28th. Impulse bags cost GBP1.19, while share bags cost GBP2.29.
