Potato Bowl USA Names New Ambassadors for 2018

Potato Bowl USA has named Brandi Niemann and Charles Thomson as ambassadors, who will participate in Potato Bowl USA activities such as the French Fry Feed, the Potato Bowl Parade and game day activities.
Each receives a USD1000 scholarship for their college education and are sons and daughters or grandchildren of Northern Plains Potato Growers Association growers and associates. They are selected by an independent committee based on academic performance and school and community involvement.
Brandi Niemann is an honors graduate from GraftonHigh School and is continuing her education at NDSU pursuing a degree in Architecture. She ranked first in her class academically finishing with a 4.12 GPA. She has been very active in her school and community taking part in Student Council, FBLA, Key Club, the Choice Financial Junior Bank Board, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, softball, basketball, and Far Off Broadway. In her free time, she enjoys yoga, curling, traveling, fishing, and being with friends. She is the daughter of Curt and Marlene Bradbury and the late Lyle Niemann.
Charles Thompson recently graduated with “highest honors” from ParkRiverHigh School. He will attend UND to pursue a degree in mechanical engineering. In high school he participated in hockey, baseball, football, music and Academic Olympic competitions; he was also president of the ParkRiver chapter of the National Honor Society. He has been active in his church and community having volunteered at the Walsh County Food Pantry for three years and the Feed My Starving Children program for five years. His parents are Ron and Jennifer Thompson.
