NDSU Researchers to Hold Presentations at Idaho Potato Conference

The North Dakota State University researchers Neil Gudmestad (pictured, left) and Gary Secor (pictured, right) will be among the keynote speakers at the 49th Annual Idaho Potato Conference, in Pocatello, scheduled for 8 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. January 18 and 8 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. January 19, at Idaho State University’s Pond Student Union Building.
In conjunction with the conference, anIdaho seed potato seminar is scheduled for January 17, and Spectra Productions will host the 38th Annual Eastern Idaho Ag Expo, where agricultural equipment dealers and service suppliers will highlight their latest innovations, at ISU’s Holt Arena from January 17 to 19.
Kasia Kinzer said Gudmestad and Secor will address issues the industry has faced and may face in the future. “Both of them have internationally renowned programs,” said Kinzer,University of Idaho’s Extension seed potato specialist, according to capitalpress.com. “We’ve invited them to give their ideas where they feel the industry is going and contributions the field of plant pathology has made in general.”
Other keynote speakers will include Idaho Potato Commission President and CEO Frank Muir, Potatoes USA President and CEO Blair Richardson and National Potato Council Executive Vice President John Keeling.
