Lamb Weston/Meijer Reveals Plans for a New Factory

Lamb Weston/Meijer has outlined plans to invest into a new factory that will ramp up production of its ambient potato business. The facility will be built in Kruiningen, Netherlands and will produce dehydrated potato products for industrial customers.

The company will invest EUR50m into the new project which includes processing, mixing, packaging and warehouse facilities. Construction is expected to start in 2019. According to the press release, the new scheme is part of the company’s master plan to increase overall potato production.

Additionally, the firm is also evaluating opportunities to expand French fry capacity at one of its factories in Europe.

In related news, Lamb Weston/Meijer recently revealed intentions to establish its Corporate Center at a new office location in Breda. The Operations & Services Center will remain at the current office location in Kruiningen.

The company also has plans to invest in innovation. To this end, the potato products maker wants to build the Technology Center in Bergen op Zoom, where it can develop and test products and processes. Lamb Weston/Meijer expects to see its plans come to fruition in 2019.
