Grimme Establishes Partnership in India

Grimme announced a joint venture to develop and market potato other root crop machines in India. Together with Shaktiman, Grimme eyes at the world's second largest potato producing country by entering into a 50-50 joint venture for technology collaboration, and marketing of complete range of potato machines in India. The machines will be marketed and serviced through well-knit dealer network of Shaktiman in India.

Shaktiman and GRIMME will share their technology platforms to develop machines for other root crops such as onion, ginger, turmeric, etc. in the near future.

The joint venture will leverage German technology from Grimme and state-of-the-art manufacturing capabilities of Shaktiman to design and develop full-line solutions for potato and other root crops.

"We look forward to this partnership and are firmly convinced that we are combining our strengths to serve the growing Indian market. This joint venture will equip us to develop specific machines to cater to the needs of India and similar markets," said Christoph Grimme, member of executive board.

Ashin Gohil, chairman of Shaktiman also added the partnership will be able to bridge the big gaps in farm mechanization for potato cultivation in India with availability of technically advanced, indigenized and affordable machines.
