Great Place to Work Ranks Tomra in Norway’s Top 10

Global human resources consulting, research and training firm specialising in organisational trust Great Place to Work® has recently announced the lists of best workplaces in Norway and names Tomra 7th best medium-sized workplace in the country.

The Great Place to Work® Model is built on 25 years of research and data collected through the company’s Trust Index© Employee Survey, which is taken by over 10 million employees annually worldwide.

Tomra made it into the prestigious top 10 list for its category for the first time in 2014, the company announced following raking results. Out of approximately 150 Norwegian companies, Tomra is number 7 on the exclusive list.

"I am very happy about this recognition," said Githa Trapnes, head of HR.

"Our goal is for Tomra to be among the best places to work. In the Norwegian part of the organization we have focused on improving our employee involvement, communication and collaboration across the different departments. It is great to see that we keep improving and that employees are satisfied and proud of working here." Githa Trapnes, head of HR - Tomra

The company introduced the Great Place to Work survey in the organization in Norway back in 2010. "This has been a great tool for us," said Håkon Volldal EVP Collection Solutions. "The surveys help us to understand what it is that we do well which we should continue doing and they help us identify possible improvement areas in the organization. Both are important in order to achieve our ambitious corporate goals."

What Makes a Great Workplace?

The Best Workplaces in Norway list ranks the country's 30 best companies, separated in three different categories: large workplaces, with more than 250 employees; medium-sized workplaces (50-249 employees) and small workplaces, respectively, having 20-49 employees.

Companies nominated for Best Companies to Work For lists must go through an application process and are selected and ranked predominantly on the basis of employees’ response to the Trust Index© Survey (2/3s of the score). This measures employee perception of the workplace.

The Culture Audit©, completed by management and evaluated by an independent Great Place to Work team, accounts for approximately 1/3 of the total score.
