Bem Brasil to Invest USD128m in Plant Expansion

Bem Brasil, the largest manufacturer of frozen pre-fried potatoes in the country, will invest R$700m (USD128m) in the expansion of the company's plant located in the municipality of Perdizes. The contributions come from both own resources and market funding, according to the company.
The investment, which is the largest in the company's history, is expected to diversify the portfolio and expand the brand's production capacity from 250,000 tons per year to 450,000 tons, according to the CEO, Dênio de Oliveira. In addition, about 300 direct jobs should be generated.
“This investment is very important for the company, which expects to grow even more with this increase in production capacity. For the state, the investment represents greater revenue and more job creation ”, comments Oliveira, mentioning that the brand already has a 40% share in the Brazilian market.
The prospects are that the start of operations will take place at the end of this year, with investments continuing until 2023.
Despite all the challenges experienced by the country and the world last year, Bem Brasil grew by about 15%. The expectation is that this year the company will also show an advance of around 15%. In this scenario, the frozen pre-fried potato market is very promising, as Oliveira points out, and is increasingly winning over consumers.
“This market for pre-fried potatoes has been growing from 8% to 10% per year in the country and Bem Brasil has been capturing this growth very well. The products are increasingly conquering customers' taste for quality and practicality ”, he says.
To continue this growth process, Bem Brasil has also been investing more and more in technological resources and, according to the company, will use the most modern technologies available for the segment.
“More and more, industries need to be more automated. This is always very important. We are constantly investing in automation ”, highlighted the CEO of Bem Brasil.
