Novel Innovation Center for Lamb Weston EMEA

On June 8, 2023, Lamb Weston EMEA officially opened its Innovation Center in Bergen op Zoom, the Netherlands, in the presence of employees, suppliers, and the mayor of the city.

This new facility expands Lamb Weston's ability to develop and test innovative goods and processes on a small scale, boosting global innovation.

The innovation center, which includes a small-scale production line, or pilot line, allows for the development of new products employing various potato kinds, cutting processes, chip forms, and flavors. It also allows Lamb Weston EMEA to try sustainable manufacturing practices that may result in less energy and water consumption.

“This Innovation Center enables us to bring even more and better initiatives to our customers and consumers, driving best-in-class product and processing innovation to deliver our loved potato products to more people, in a more sustainable way,” Marc Schroeder, President International of Lamb Weston, mentioned.

According to Frank Petter, Mayor of Bergen op Zoom, the Innovation Center is located in the center of an innovation hub with the DAB (Delta Agriculture Business) and agri/technical schools.

“This already turned out to be a perfect breeding ground for new ideas in the past and also gives further growth opportunities in our total agri/food sector,” Petter summed up.
