McCain Hits Three Million Meal Donation Milestone with FareShare

McCain Foods has delivered the equivalent of three million meals to UK charities and community groups, marking a significant milestone in its partnership with FareShare, the country’s largest surplus food redistribution organisation.
The frozen potato producer has worked with FareShare since 2013, providing surplus products including raw and frozen potatoes. The initiative is part of the company’s broader efforts to combat food insecurity and reduce waste.
FareShare supports a network of more than 8,000 organisations, ranging from breakfast clubs and homelessness shelters to domestic violence refuges and lunch clubs for the elderly. The charity plays a crucial role in directing surplus food to people facing hardship, particularly during a period of persistent cost-of-living pressures.
Jillian Moffatt, Regional President at McCain Foods GB, said: “Through a partnership that has spanned more than a decade, we are incredibly proud to have donated over three million meals to FareShare. As a family-owned company, we are committed to supporting local communities across the UK and are honoured to work with FareShare, who help nearly 8,000 frontline charities and community groups.”
Nicole Sanchez-Castillo, Head of Food Partnerships at FareShare, added: “We’re thrilled to have reached this incredible 3 million meal milestone with McCain. Their support has enabled us to ensure more of this good-to-eat food goes to the people who need it most instead of it going to waste.”
Beyond FareShare, McCain GB engages in other community initiatives, including collaborations with Community Shop and Family Fund, alongside food donations, volunteering and fundraising.
