Sormac Upgrades CBS Peeling Machine for Baby Potatoes

Dutch specialist Sormac has recently upgraded its CBS peeling machine for peeling batches of baby potatoes. The machine processes pre-washed product using a coarse carborundum disc and then polishes it with a finer disc. This two-step process delivers high-performance peeling results, according to the company.

The new carborundum disc allows for the processing of products with a diameter as small as 5mm. Rubber strips protect the product from bruising, ensuring a smooth finish for baby potatoes, as well as baby carrots, and others.

The CBS has a processing capacity of 25kg per batch and an input capacity of 240kg/hour. The Sormac carborundum peeler is designed for the peeling of root products such as potatoes, celeriac, kohlrabi, red beet, and baby carrots, and the machine features a carborundum covered interior as well as a carborundum disc.

The peeling disc can be taken out and is designed to enable the product to rotate within the machine, peeling it evenly, without any flat surfaces.
