JASA's Bag-2-Paper Offers Green Alternative

Every day thousands of plastic packages are sold. But plastic waste is becoming a bigger issue every day, as consumers are becoming more mindful of their plastic use. More and more consumers are looking for recyclable alternatives or buying packaging-free produce, as a result of this trend.

JASA Packaging Solutions described, in a recent interview for Potato Business, the development of a revolutionary new technology for vertical packaging machines, called Bag-2-Paper™. It is essentially paper, without the plastic coating. Moreover, the packages can be closed without sealing and are packed very fast, on a vertical packaging machine.

“Traditional paper packages generally have a plastic coating on the inside, which makes them unfit to recycle. Thanks to the vertical packaging technology, the Bag-2-Paper™ machines are able to keep up with the required capacity, and because there’s no heat used to seal the packages, the Bag-2-Paper™ machines are also energy efficient,” say Jasa representatives.

The Bag-2-Paper™ system has already received several awards, such as the Dutch, NL Packaging Award 2019, Worldstar Sustainability award 2020 and the WorldStar Packaging Award 2020.
