The Netherlands: the title of ‘Koninklijk’ (Royal) Has Been Awarded to NNZ

In recognition of its 100th anniversary, His Majesty King Willem-Alexander bestowed the title of “Koninklijk” (Royal) on NNZ.
On 6 February 2023, CEO Len Boot was presented with the certificate by René Paas, the King's Commissioner for the province of Groningen, in front of colleagues, relatives, and close family.
“Everyone at NNZ feels proud and honored that from now on we can use the name ‘Royal NNZ Group bv’. The privilege of using the title “Royal” crowns 100 years of family entrepreneurship, consideration for others, and dedication in every aspect,” NNZ’s CEO Len Boot said.
The honorific “Koninklijk” denotes the King's regard, gratitude, and confidence in the recipient. If a business, organization, institution, or foundation has been around for at least 100 years, it may apply for this designation. Both the corporation and its directors are required to conduct themselves with the utmost integrity. Companies granted the title are permitted to use the Royal Dutch Crown as part of their logo.
On October 22, 2022, the corporation celebrated its 100th anniversary. By 2023, the company will have 260 people, be present in 24 wholly-owned subsidiaries across 18 nations, and collaborate with more than 50 nations through a worldwide network of partners. NNZ invests substantially in industrial packaging materials in Benelux, Germany, Poland, Switzerland, Scandinavia, the United Kingdom, the United States, and Canada. The company principally focuses on packaging materials for the fruit and vegetable industry.
NNZ aims to make all packaging reusable or recyclable in an economically viable way by 2030. The company’s biggest challenge for the future: transforming the packaging world into a fully circular value chain. “Reshaping packaging for a better world” is their guiding principle, and to that end, they dedicate their passion and professionalism.
