2023-2024 Campaign End Price: EUR100 per Tonne of Potatoes

For the 2023–2024 harvest year, Royal Avebe has set a campaign end price per tonne of potatoes of EUR 100. As a result, the cooperative is raising its base price from EUR95 per tonne to EUR5 for this crop year.
“Avebe always strives to pay its farmer members as much as possible. We are taking the necessary steps to achieve this. We are well aware that the yield of starch potato cultivation has to further increase because of rising costs, climate change, changed law and regulatory and competition of other crops,” David Fousert, CEO at Royal Avebe, mentioned.
Experts at the company claim that the season was difficult for Avebe's more than 2,000 farmer members.
“It is impressive how our members dealt with the many challenges this harvest year. This had the necessary impact on Avebe. Just like the global macro-economic situation,” Fousert added.
Farmers are facing numerous difficulties at the beginning of the new season once more. Due to the unusually rainy spring, planting is starting later than usual. Regional variations are significant. For Avebe, 90% of the potatoes are planted in the ground.
