PotatoEurope 2025 Trial Fields Fully Booked as Leading Companies Showcase Cultivation Innovations

PotatoEurope 2025 is set to highlight some of the most advanced developments in potato cultivation, as fifteen leading agribusiness companies prepare to showcase their expertise in dedicated trial fields during the upcoming event on 3–4 September in the Netherlands.

Spanning the full spectrum of potato applications—from seed and table potatoes to French fry and starch varieties—the trial plots are designed to reflect a variety of real-world agronomic conditions. These include variable strategies in fertilisation, tuber initiation, crop protection, and preparation for storage. The aim is to offer visiting professionals a comprehensive, practice-oriented view of the latest research, methods, and technologies.

The companies confirmed to participate in the trial fields are: Soiltech, Certis Belchim, Solana, Nufarm, Kreglinger Europe NV, HZPC, BASF, Restrain Company Ltd, Agrico, Schaap Holland B.V., Corteva, Bayer CropScience SA-NV, STET Holland B.V., Averis, and Bionext.

Kuno Jacobs, director of DLG Benelux and organiser of PotatoEurope 2025, confirmed that preparations are progressing on schedule and expectations are high. “The trial and demonstration fields were planted on schedule, and the crops are developing excellently. We are proud to announce that the exhibition is fully booked, with 309 exhibitors from 16 countries. We expect around 15,000 visitors, who can look forward to a diverse and content-rich programme,” he said.

Jacobs emphasized that knowledge sharing remains central to the event’s mission: “Just like in previous editions, this year’s event is all about sharing knowledge, innovation, and practical experience. We will achieve this through features such as the harvesting and storage demonstrations, indoor and outdoor exhibitions, trial plots, the scientific symposium, and of course, the presentation of the Innovation Award.”

In addition to the outdoor demonstrations, the event will host a range of content sessions and networking opportunities that cater to every link in the potato value chain—from breeders and growers to processors and technology suppliers.

Held annually and rotating among the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, and France, PotatoEurope continues to position itself as a key international meeting point for the sector. This year’s edition underscores that role by placing the practical application of innovation firmly at the center of the programme.

With over 300 exhibitors and more than 15,000 participants expected, PotatoEurope 2025 stands as a testament to the sector’s drive for innovation, sustainability, and international collaboration.
