Potato Europe Returns to France in 2024

Potato Europe's next event is scheduled for September 11 and 12, 2024, in Villers-Saint-Christophe, in the department of Aisne. This international open-field festival, which is held every four years by Arvalis with assistance from the potato sector, is anticipated to draw 15,000 visitors and 400 exhibitors over a 40-hectare venue.

PotatoEurope is committed to providing technical guidance and innovations to address the issues of environmental sustainability, competitiveness, quality, and productivity.

The Hauts-de-France region will host this French edition of the event, which is well connected to Benelux, Grand-Est, Normandy, and Ile-de-France via roads and public transportation.

Approximately 40% of the 12,000 guests at the 2016 event were from more than 70 different nations. The success of the event is a monument to its reputation, as attendees can be assured of meeting important figures in agricultural machinery, supplies, and trade throughout Europe and beyond.

To improve crop production, quality, and status, 15,000 guests are anticipated this year to meet with partners in fundamental research, applied research, development, distribution, and agricultural supply.

The dynamic potato harvesters and grading lines have been the cornerstone of Potato Europe's reputation since its founding. With its world-class optical sorting displays, this year's French version is sure to make an impression. Another unique feature that consistently draws large crowds of visitors from every continent is the commercial town, FEDEPOM, which is home to over 50 firms.

The technical space of the 2024 edition will present advances in R&D around five themed areas: - agronomy and fertility; - genetic resources and varietal innovations; - crop protection: - storage and conservation; - API tools serving potatoes.
