Western U.S. Strong Presence for Bühler and West-Link With New Research and Training Center

To assist food processors in the Western U.S., Bühler, the leader in optical sorting technology, has established a new, cutting-edge optical sorting research and training facility in Stockton, California, in collaboration with West-Link, a major food industry equipment provider.

Thanks to the state-of-the-art optical sorting technologies installed in the new research and training center, food processors now have the much-needed chance to test and evaluate their best optical sorting options when growing or enhancing their operations or constructing new facilities.

“This new location provides a technology-forward platform for growers and processors to test their products on the latest optical sorting equipment, see demonstrations on new optical sorting technologies, and get specialized training on the entire Bühler SORTEX portfolio,” Brian Sears, President and owner of West-Link, mentioned.

Vegetable and food processors (among others), as well as producers throughout the Central Valley of California, can easily access the facility due to its strategic location in the center of the region's rich agricultural terrain. The research and training center not only provides testing and demonstration capabilities but also functions as a parts warehouse and refurbishing lab for Bühler's optical sorters, facilitating quick access to parts and servicing while reducing unplanned downtime.

“This research and application center provides an unprecedented level of support and service in this region. Bühler is committed to the processors and growers in the western US, and our partnership with West-Link, a highly reputable equipment supplier, strengthens that commitment. It is the perfect resource for those looking to maximize the efficiencies of their food production operations and take them to the next level,” Andrew Parlour, Vice President of Sales for Bühler in North America, declared.

From this location, West-Link also offers mobile testing and demonstrations for situations where bringing products to the Stockton facility isn’t possible or convenient.

The new research and training center replaces an earlier Bühler location in Stockton, offering greater access to Bühler’s entire optical sorting portfolio as well as West-Link’s market knowledge and process expertise.
