Two More Farms in Québec Parmentier’s Portfolio

Les Fermes Petite-Nation and Les Pommes de Terre du Témiscamingue Inc., two important Canadian potato producers located in The Outaouais and Témiscamingue regions, were acquired by Québec Parmentier organization, thus bringing its total annual production to more than 136.000 tonnes.
“This transaction is part of Québec Parmentier's sustainable growth plan in line with its ambition to become a Canadian leader in the potato sector and thus to ensure a stable and regular supply to our customers throughout the year,” said the organization CEO, Pierre Chouinard, according to a recent press release.
Two New Shareholders
At the same time, Québec Parmentier announced that Préval AG and Les Pommes de Terre Cardinal have joined the organization as new shareholders. Proven leaders in their niche activities, both bring expertise and complementarity to the organization.
For its part, Les Pommes de Terre Cardinal, a family business since 1952, cultivates more than 800 hectares, including 404 hectares of potatoes, in addition to having a packing station.

We offer a solution that meets the needs of our clients and the adequacy of the expertise of our two new shareholders will allow us to pursue our mission. This is further proof of the success of our model of which we are very proud,” declared the president of Québec Parmentier, Kevin Rivard.

Québec Parmentier is the only potato producer organization in Canada with its private varietal development program, investing in research and development of new products, producing seed potatoes (TNU, E1, E2, E3, E4), also producing table potatoes and having its packing station and processing plant.
