Tummers Connect to Gain AI Capabilities Through PolySense Collaboration

Tummers Food Processing Solutions has announced a strategic partnership with PolySense aimed at integrating artificial intelligence into potato processing equipment. The agreement marks a step toward broader digitalisation in the sector, where efficiency gains and waste reduction are increasingly tied to data-driven process control.
The first implementation will take place on Tummers’ Delta Roller Spreader, a machine designed for versatile spreading of product flows. When fitted with advanced cameras and sensors from PolySense, the system will be able to capture and analyse product data in real time. This information can then be used to guide subsequent processing stages, enabling improved line accuracy, higher throughput efficiency, and reduced raw material losses.
The AI module is also intended as a building block for Tummers Connect, a digital platform under development that will allow customers to monitor, control, and optimise operations from a single interface.
Dennis Rademakers, Lead R&D Engineer at Tummers, said: “We strongly believe in the power of data and AI in industrial environments. This partnership with PolySense allows us to turn that vision into practical, impactful solutions.”
Yarne de Munck, CEO at PolySense, added: “This collaboration shows how cutting-edge technology can be seamlessly integrated into industrial processes. Our AI systems are a natural fit with Tummers’ ambition to drive innovation in the sector.”
The cooperation reflects a growing trend across the food processing industry toward smart automation and predictive monitoring, as equipment suppliers look to strengthen their role in delivering efficiency, flexibility, and traceability to customers.
