Tong Announces New Appointments

Tong Engineering has announced a total of four new appointments within the company. Following a strong year of sales of the company’s vegetable grading and washing solutions in 2019, 2020 is set to be a milestone year, with a new state-of-the-art Tong production facility scheduled for completion in Spring.
Additionally, Tong Engineering has also announced the appointment of Neil Martin as Operations Director and Teresa Morgan as Finance Director, both of which will enhance continuity and expertise across the Board, said the company.
Martin started his career at the company as Buyer, when Tong acquired Peal Engineering in 2005. During his time at Tong, Martin has progressed through the business, gaining a deep understanding of the company’s visions, as well as the industry’s ongoing requirements, making him perfectly placed to ensure the customer remains at the heart of Tong’s strategy and operations as the business expands.
“Becoming a director of such an established and respected company than maintains long-staining family values is an honor and a privilege. Having worked at Tong, and formerly Peal, for a combined 34 years, I am looking forward to increased involvement in the direction of the company as we continue to grow as a world-class manufacturer of advanced equipment,” said Martin, previously head of operations.
Newly appointed Finance Director, Teresa Morgan, joined Tong in 2015 as head of finance. Over the past 5 years, Teresa has conducted all financial aspects of the business, and brings strong analytical and commercial attributes to the ongoing growth of Tong.
Alongside the new directorships, Gavin Barnes joins Tong as Project Manager. Barnes, who previously worked at Tong for over 8 years before broadening his engineering expertise outside the vegetable industry, has returned to Tong to further strengthen the company’s project management team in overseeing complex and large-scale projects.
Tong has also boosted its sales team with the appointment of a new Sales Manager, Peter Stocks. He joined Tong’s existing sales force, helping to drive sales of the company’s wide range of equipment in both UK and export markets. Stocks steps into the new role with 8 years of experience in understanding the ongoing needs and demands associated with vegetable production and processing.
“The new year has seen some very progressive new appointments and additions to our growing team. I am very confident that these new roles will be invaluable to our success through 2020 and beyond,” concluded Edward Tong, managing director of Tong Engineer.
