Tomra Sorting appoints EMEA service manager

Food sorting solutions manufacturer TOMRA Sorting Food has appointed a service manager for Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) to further develop its customer care offer.

Nicolas Charluteau – who has more than 15 years’ experience in aftermarket service delivery – says he aims to provide existing and new customers throughout EMEA with a “best-in-class” service. His intention is to reinforce and enhance TOMRA Sorting Food’s leading position by establishing a level of service that will provide a key differentiator for the company.

Nicolas joins TOMRA Sorting Food from Belgian mining and construction machinery distributor BIA where he was the company’s aftermarket business unit manager for Africa. Prior to that, Nicolas had a variety of aftermarket and service roles across the machinery and automotive industries.

Commenting on his appointment, Nicolas says: “TOMRA’s vision of leading the resource revolution is one that I find both inspirational and challenging. Joining the business enables me to play my role in helping shaping the future of the company and, ultimately, helping to achieve such an admirable vision.

“TOMRA’s machines and technologies are outstanding and deliver excellent commercial value to customers. My focus will be to add even greater value by working on designing and implementing a service offering that will become regarded as best-in-class.”

Nicolas adds that a key aspect of his role will be to manage cross functional teams, comprising sales, marketing, finance and production, so that excellent customer service sits at the heart of what they do. In addition, he says he will refine TOMRA Sorting Food’s go-to-market strategy through existing and new agents to enable the company to grow its customer care coverage throughout EMEA.

“I firmly believe that in order to have satisfied customers, businesses must have motivated, engaged and happy employees,” Nicolas comments. “I have found outstanding levels of energy and enthusiasm at all levels within TOMRA Sorting Food and will work with individuals and teams to harness this positivity to drive effective customer care activity.”

Nicolas – who will be based at TOMRA Sorting Food’s headquarters in Leuven, Belgium - holds degrees in both mechanical engineering and mathematics.

Welcoming him to the company, TOMRA Sorting Food global service director, Andreas Reddemann, says: “We are very pleased that Nicolas has joined our service team. His relevant aftermarket experience within EMEA means he is ideally placed to drive our service in the region, whilst also bringing plenty of further passion, dedication and innovation to what we do.
