Russia: Another Processing Plant Announced

According to reports from Russia, another potato processing plant will soon be built. The news came when Alexei Dyumin, the governor of the Tula Region, visited the agricultural enterprise ZHAK.
While the reason for that visit was the opening of a new grain storage complex, Dyumin reportedly announced to ZHAK: “Your farm is one of the largest agricultural enterprises in the Central Federal District and one of the leaders in Russia in potato production. We have repeatedly spoken about the importance of processing raw materials. Last year, at the Russian Investment Forum in Sochi, we signed an agreement with your enterprise for the construction of a plant for deep processing of potatoes.”
It seems that the plant is to be built in Venev and the project is still in the design and planning stage. Construction is scheduled to begin at the end of 2020 and be completed at the end of 2022. Reportedly, the project cost is EUR17.4m
