Pomuni Trade Division Secures Highest BRC/IFS Food Safety Scores

Belgian potato supplier Pomuni has recently announced that its Trade division was awarded with the highest possible score during a BRC/IFS audit, which took place at the end of January 2019.

The International Food Standard and the British Retail Consortium’s Global Standard for Food Safety contain a number of food safety regulations that needed to be implemented by the company. These are controlled during yearly audits which take place unannounced.

During the evaluation, Pomuni Trade received the best results possible – BRC AA-level and the higher level for IFS.

“These two results demonstrate once again that quality, food safety and traceability are our top priorities. Despite the transitions we are currently facing, we managed to get a top result thanks to the efforts and cooperation of the whole team, said Tom Bolssens, QA and Certification Manager at Pomuni Trade.

Pomuni Trade handles the company’s export/import operations.

BRC/IFS/TESCO audits for Pomuni Frozen and s BRC audit for Pomuni Fresh will take place in the next couple of months.
