NPPGA Seeking Candidates to Run for Potatoes USA Board Seats

Northern Plains Potato Growers Association (NPPGA) is seeking candidates to run for open board seats for Potatoes USA, formerly known as the United States Potato Board.
Board seats are allocated by production in each state. North Dakota has five seats and Minnesota has three. All elected board members serve three year terms and are eligible to serve two consecutive terms. After serving two consecutive terms, that board member must sit out at least one year before running for a seat again.
NPPGA is seeking at least two candidates as Carl Hoverson in North Dakota and Justin Dagen in Minnesota's second terms will expire and are not eligible for re-election.
North Dakota also has two board seats that can be challenged with sitting board members are running for re-election. Those seats are held by Casey Hoverson and Bill Sheldon.
Those who are interested in running for any of these seats have to contact Chuck Gunnerson at NPPGA at cgunnerson@nppga.org. The nominating process must be completed by Friday, June 24, 2016. Shortly after that ballots will be mailed to all NPPGA grower members with voting instructions. Newly elected candidates will be sworn in at the Potatoes USA Annual Meeting next March in Colorado.
