Former Snyder’s-Lance Owners Buy Snack Company

The former owners of Hanover-area Snyder's-Lance, MAW Acquisitions LP, have purchased an Abbottstown-based (Pennsylvania, United States) snack company, G&S Foods/Tastysnack Quality Foods Inc.
Owned by Steve Garvick and Dale Spahr, and led by Tricia Warehime, the widow of late Snyder's-Lance Chairman Michael Warehime, MAW Acquisitions LP will retain the existing infrastructure of G&S Foods, but will be renamed G&S Foods LLC.
Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
"Our family had just exited a snack food business in the community and wanted to put our knowledge back to work again locally," Warehime said in a press release.
New Jersey-based Campbell Soup completed a USD6bn deal to purchase Snyder's-Lance earlier this year. Campbell soup first announcement plans last December to buy Snyder's-Lance following months of speculation about a deal between the two food industry giants.
“We were only interested in selling the business if we could find the absolute best fit for our employees, our customers and our community,” Garvick said. “Tricia (Patricia A.) Warehime offered that opportunity through her family owner/operator experience with Snyder’s of Hanover, her shared knowledge and passion for the snack food industry, and her commitment to continued investment in our community.”
