Avebe Receives Royal Warrant

In honor of Avebe’s centenary, His Majesty King William-Alexander of Netherlands awarded the business with the Royal Warrant. The accolade was presented by the King’s Commissioner in the Province of Groningen René Paas to Avebe’s Chairman of the Board of Directors Bert Jansen.

According to Paas, Avebe is the first cooperative in Groningen to be given this honor. The Royal Warrant has also been awarded to ten other cooperatives in the past.

Royal Warrants of appointment have been issued for centuries to those who supply goods or services to a royal court or certain royal personages.

Avebe was established in 1919 and since then the eleven-cooperative potato-starch factories have been selling potato starch together to ensure they could sell their products better.
